Lego’s at the Zoo

There is an exhibit going on at the Denver Zoo that has a selection of life-sized and above animals made out of Lego’s scattered about the zoo. The Zoo in partnership with the Goddard School has provided a map (http://denverzoo.org/downloads/Denver_Zoo_Goddard_LEGO_activity_map.pdf) of where these animals are located. This is a great resource with learning and engaging activities you and your family can do with these Lego creatures.

Out and About: For this adventure, I encourage you to go to the zoo and see how many of these blocky creatures you can find. Along with the map, to make your visit more challenging, I have provided you with a picture of one part of some of the Lego sculptures. As you are traveling through the zoo, see if you can find the animal each picture belongs to. The answers are shown at the bottom of the page, but no peaking until you are all done!

The page of pictures. See if you can match them with the animal, they belong to.

Your Turn: When you get home, try your hand at building your own animals. They can be as simple or as complex as you would like.

We here at Inquisitive Lantern would love to see your and your children’s projects. Please share them and your feedback at the end of this post. Please note though that Inquisitive Lantern will approve all posts for their family friendly content before they become public.

Happy Adventuring!
